Achieve/Identity: Community

English

Goal:  To use reading strategies to help me understand the Achieve article.  To identify words in each paragraph and use the search tool to find the definition and copy it into the summary box.  To respond thoughtfully and thoroughly to the assigned Thought Question prompt.

Essential Question(s):
How did the Finnish writer Tove Jansson's life experiences influence her writing and shape her identity?

Agenda:
Achieve: "Identity to Story to Identity"
  • Start with the Stretch!
  • Before reading poll
  • reading strategy:
For each paragraph, highlight events that occurred in Jansson’s life that caused her pain in blue, then highlight the effects these events had in her life in yellow.  Finally, choose at least one word from each paragraph to define by highlighting it and then right-clicking. Read the definition (choose the one that makes the most sense) and copy it then paste it into the text box.
