Chapter 21 Reading Notes/Writing Territories and Achieve

How did Confucianism, Daoism, and Legalism influence political rule in ancient China?

GOALS:   
To learn about the three philosophies that came out of the Warring States Period and to understand how this instability led to schools of thought.

OKAY!  I am super excited to start rotations.  Each day we will begin class with our 
Writing Workshop (usually a poem for discussion and then our mini-lesson).  Then,
depending on your assigned rotation, you will work to complete your task with your 
table group. Each day, I will conference with two groups on their writing.  This week
(and going into next because of the  Monday holiday), I will support you on writing your 
Thought Question response.  This will be due Wednesday, the 28th.  Steps 1-4 for both
Achieves are due Sunday 2/25 before midnight.

Our rotations will include:
  • Grammar
  • Vocabulary/spelling
  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Achieves
I am super excited to start these lessons and I will be eager for your feedback on how 
they are working!  Hey, have I told you lately...YOU ARE ALL AMAZING!!!

REMINDERS/HOMEWORK:  


  • Work on Achieve Articles (Activities due before midnight Sunday :)
  • Achieve Thought Question due Wednesday,  2/28
  • Memorize the prepositions for tomorrow's test! :)
  • Achieve Read to Succeed contest:  February 12- March 9!!!!!

Students take a quiz as they finish each book.   At end of March of students who complete the program will receive 5 points of extra credit from me :). All quizzes should be completed by Friday, March 23 to be eligible for the voting parties to be held in the library during both lunches, Wednesday, March 28.
